Pegasus, a well known creature in Greek mythology, is a winged divine stallion, usually depicted as pure white in color. He was sired by Poseidon, in his role as horse-god, and foaled by the Gorgon Medusa.
The symbolism of Pegasus has varied with time. A symbol of knowledge, glory, and inspiration since ancient times, Pegasus has been a symbol of power and speed as well as imagination. Also as a symbol of wisdom, he is the creator of sources in which the poets have come to draw inspiration.

“Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,
For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.”
